Learning without Walls

Day trips begin in Pre-K as children explore farms, lakes, forests, wetlands, historic sites, museums, and pristine local coastline. Overnight trips to destinations across the state—and later across the country—begin in Grade 5. First-hand discoveries make knowledge personal, and outdoor adventures and visits to historically, culturally, and ecologically significant sites are deeply integrated into Shore’s Coherent Curriculum model year-round. In the eighth and ninth grades, longer trips increase in significance as students are immersed in exhilarating explorations during which they discover as much about themselves as about the environments they investigate.
